Is Techniclad made from real stone?
Yes, Techniclad stone veneers are extracted from 100% natural stone, reflecting all the characteristics of the stone blocks they are extracted from.
What is the lifespan of stone veneers?
Stone normally lasts a lifetime, but we offer a practical 7-year guarantee.
What kind of surface preparation is required before installing Techniclad?
For optimal bonding, the surface should be smooth, clean, dust-free, and dry. If the substrate is stable, no special preparation is necessary. However, if the surface is crumbling or uneven, it needs to be primed or levelled before installation to ensure a permanent bond.
Do I need special tools to cut Techniclad?
No special tools are required. You can easily cut our real stone decors with commercially available tools for wood or stone. We recommend using an immersion circular saw with a wood or plastic saw blade that has fine teeth. For smaller cut-outs, an oscillating tool/multitool is suitable.
What maintenance is required for Techniclad after installation?
Being 100% natural stone, Techniclad requires the same minimum maintenance that other stone installations require. We recommend applying a water-based stone sealer after installation.
Can Techniclad Stone veneers be installed near a fireplace, and what adhesive should be used?
It's recommended to use a heat-resistant adhesive when installing near a heat source. Please note that only Stone Veneer Sheets and Translucent Stone Veneer Sheets can be used in areas that reach a maximum indirect heat temperature of 120°C.
How do I clean Techniclad Stone veneers?
Stone veneers can be cleaned with commercially available, non-caustic household cleaners. Clear water and a lint-free cloth or soft brush are usually sufficient. In outdoor areas, cleaning with a high-pressure cleaner is possible, but please follow the device manufacturer's recommended distance.
Why is Techniclad stone veneer better than natural stone slabs?
Techniclad Stone veneer is lighter and more flexible than natural stone slabs, making it easier to handle and install. It also uses less than 5% of the natural stone it's extracted from, making it environmentally friendly.
